The study's objectives are based on the monitoring of ruminal pH and average daily gain (ADG) in Karakul of Botoşani lambs, following the addition of apple vinegar to ration. The study was conducted on a group of 90 weaned lambs. The ration consisted 30% chopped natural hay and 70% feed concentrated. The lambs were divided into 3 equal batches: control group (G1), experimental group (G2) at which ration was supplemented with 8 ml of apple vinegar/day/animal and experimental group (G3) was supplemented with 12 ml of apple vinegar/day/animal. As a result of study, was observed differences between the control group and the experimental groups. Thus at the batch G1 there was a daily average increase of 260 g, at the batch G2 290 g and at G3 310 g. Control group (G1) showed an average ruminal pH of 5,4 and experimental groups (G2 , G3) an average of 5,9. There are differences between the groups studied through variations of ruminal pH and ADG denoting that apple vinegar may have a potential influence.

The objectives of this research consist describe the principles mechanisms of action, selection and synthesizing criteria of probiotics and their application in poultry industry. Biotechnology plays a vital role in the poultry feed industry. In broiler chickens feeding, there have been tested probiotics species belonging to Enterococcus faecium NCIMB 11181 and Enterococcus faecium NCIMB 10415 to reduce broiler chickens mortality and increase body weight and started with products that need to be tested and verified under these conditions. The experiment was initially performed on two successive series of broilers. The birds were weighed at the beginning of the experiment. Day-old Ross 308 broiler chickens (n=484) unsexed were distributed in three halls, in separate compartments. The data were analysed using SPSS 20.0 software (SPSS Inc., Chicago, IL). Statistical differences among means of the treatments were compared using the Tukey’s multiple test. Comparisons were considered statistically significant at P≤ 0.05.

In the present paper we set out to carry out a study on the quality of the physical indices of the turkey meat, derived from the Big BUT 6 hybrid slaughtered at 16 weeks of age (group L1) and at 18 weeks (group L2) through the following indices: acidity (pH value) achieved 20 minutes after slaughter, 24 hours and 72 hours, colorimetric parameters of the meat, milling (through Warner Bratzler shear forces) and texture, which was achieved by using objective methods such as Texture Profile Analysis (TPA). Regarding the acidity achieved for the four anatomical regions (chest, upper pulp, lower pulp and wings), no statistical differences were observed following the analysis of the data. Regarding the coordinate of the complementary colors red-green (a*) the minimums registered were specific to the pectoral muscles, for both L1 (-0.38 ± 0.09) and for L2 (-0.25 ± 0.12), the calculated maxima being responsible for the upper pulp musculature in both experimental groups (5.10 ± 0.15 ÷ 5.52 ± 0.12). The comparative analysis of the average forces for each muscle group observed the superiority of the fragility of the muscle samples collected from the level of the pectoral muscles and the wings.

Sheep's milk is a very important food for human nutrition and is also an important raw material for a whole series of dairy products. The purpose of the current paper is to investigate the milk’s quantitative and qualitative variations, during the lactation period in sheep. Milk samples were collected and some parameters, such as: quantity, density, percentage of fat, protein substances and lactose were monitored every month of lactation. The obtained results (compared to the 2nd month) showed significant increase (P<0,05) in the case of milk production for the 3rd month (with 10.9%) and for the 4th month (with 9.95%). Significant increase was also obtained in the case of milk density for the 4th month (with 0.29%), for the 5th month (with 0.48%) and for the 6th month (with 0.77%). Concerning the percentage of fat, it also showed increase for the 5th month (with 9.45%) and for the 6th month (with 24.32%). Simultaneous, significant decreases (P<0.05) were found in the case of milk production in the 5th month (with 10.6%) and in the 6th month (with 30.13), as well as in the percentage of lactose in the 5th month (with 4.79%) and in the 6th month (13.73%).

After the first 7 days, the primiparous cows milked three times a day achieved 20.00 kg milk postpartum, corrected at 3.5% fat, while the cows milked twice a day achieved an average production of 17.10 kg milk postpartum, corrected at 3.5% fat. There is an additional quantity of 2.9 kg milk at the primiparous cows milked three times a day (an increase of 16.9%). Statistically analysed, this increase is distinctly significant (P<0.01). After 21 days of experiments, the average milk production of the primiparous cows milked twice a day reaches 19.15 kg milk with 3.5% fat, and the average milk production of the ones milked three times a day reaches 20.50 kg milk with 3.5% fat; for the latter case, there is a decrease of production of 3.8% compared to the previous lapse of time, probably due to certain changes of the physiological status. After 28 days of experiments, the average production of the primiparous cows milked three times a day reached 22.80 kg milk with 3.55 fat, and the average production of the ones milked twice a day reached 18.85 kg milk with 3.5% fat, registering thus a difference of 2.95 kg milk (14.8%). Statistically analysed, this difference is distinctly significant (P<0.01).

The research aimed to make a more complex assessment of the current breed status of a new sheep population with very good milk production skills. The population concerned represented the result of research activity to form a new breed with superior skills in milk production. The biological material was represented by a significant number of 1200 females and 58 breeding rams. This herd is part of the living stock and is registered in the Genealogical Register. The data processing was done by methods accepted by the experimental technique. From the data processing, it results that the actual size of the new type population is placed at the level that allows the application of a sustained selection program. For this indicator, the average values show that the new population is evolving very well in other areas, where the pedoclimatic conditions are slightly different from those in the training area. The average value of the actual size varies depending on the holding and the area, from the minimum of 105.88 for the populations outside the training area to 115.16 for the analyzed herd in the training area.

Research aimed to enlighten the effect of age on milk production obtained from local goat populations. To limit the effect of some external factors on lactogen capacity the formed batches were maintained in permanent stabulation on the whole period of the respective lactation. Biological material belonged to local breed Carpatina, being represented by 7 batches differentiating by age from 2.5 years to 9 years, each of them being constituted by 10 females in lactation, all being subjected to the same experimental treatment. Evaluation of performances for milk production was based on some determinations accepted by experimental technique, using Nica method for lactation period and for period in which females were exclusively milked was applied the AT4 method respecting the technical specifications suggest by International Committee for Animal Recording. The obtained results were statistically processed by statistical analysis using REML (REstricted Maximum Likelihood) algorithm, which offers the obtaining of statistical estimating parameters in normal interval. Analyse of recorded performances with the occasion of applying of productive control highlight that at batch formed by females which have in the second and third lactation the age of four and five years was recorded a mean milk production higher with 14.38% and respectively 32% face to the ones in the first lactation. The obtained results are very important because, in Romania, the sector represented by goat rearing is into an advanced development and modernization stage as well regarding the applied technologies.

The use of soy flour in bakery products improves the handling of the dough, the bread core is lighter in color and softer. In these conditions, the research carried out aimed to test the possibility of replacing a part of the wheat flour with enzymatically active soybean meal, associated with ascorbic acid (0.005% of the amount of flour) and sodium stearoyl- 2-lactate (0.4%), as stabilizer and emulsifier. During the experimental period, 4 recipes were made for bread making, respectively a control sample and 3 experimental samples, in which different quantities of enzymatically active soybean meal (5%, 10%, 15%) were introduced. There was an improvement in the hydration capacity of the dough, in proportion to the amount of the added soy flour. As a result, it can stated that soybean meal increases the absorption capacity of the water and increases the durability of bread freshness.

Same as the whole European poultry industry Romanian poultry industry is facing worldwide competition and so Romanian poultry industry had to produce a product better than in other countries. This prospect depends on several factors, among them being the use of probiotics as an alternative to antibiotic growth promoters. That is precisely why this paper is aiming to present the influence of probiotics on the production performance in broilers reared in industrial system. The study was conducted over the course of five consecutive growth series, using the three-phase feeding technology on two experimental batches - batch A that received feed containing probiotics in commercial quantity of 550 grams per ton of feed and batch B that received conventional feed without probiotic. The values obtained at 42 days are demonstrating the beneficial effect of pro-biotic products in all used feed recipes as body weight (2908.20 ± 53.30 g), mortality (1.912 ± 0.01 %) and specific consumption (1596.98 ± 38.98 g/kg) are better in batch A which is why probiotics can be used successfully to enhance production performances of industrial produced broilers.
